64 × 64 frames, without resampling

Our original sample contains eight pixel-art plants on a transparent 4 × 2 sheet. Each cell is 64 × 64 px. Try the spaced sample to see how an 8 px border and 4 px gutters change the cutting grid.

Match the grid, keep the pixels

This tool is for regularly spaced rectangular frames. It does not detect objects automatically or unpack rotated, tightly packed atlases. Incomplete edge frames are skipped by default; you can choose to keep them at their actual size. A layout can contain up to 512 frames.

Sprite Sheet Splitter FAQ

How do I choose the frame dimensions?

Enter the exact width and height of one cell, including any transparent padding that belongs to the frame. The grid preview updates as you type.

What is the difference between offset and spacing?

Offset skips the outside border before the first frame. Spacing skips the gap between neighboring frames. X controls horizontal distance; Y controls vertical distance.

Will transparent pixels be kept?

Yes. Frames are exported as PNG with their transparency preserved. The checkerboard is only a preview background.

Why is the last column missing?

If the remaining strip is smaller than a full frame, it is skipped by default. Enable Keep partial edge frames to include that strip at its actual pixel size.

Can I split an irregular sprite atlas?

No. This splitter requires a regular grid. It does not read atlas JSON, rotate frames or detect separate objects.

How are frames ordered?

Frames are named frame-001.png, frame-002.png and so on, from left to right, then top to bottom. Numbers are not drawn into the images.
